The Very Basics Of Successful E-Mail Marketing

Mailing List - Traditional form of e-mail marketing

If you don’t already know, e-mail marketing is a vital, essential, potent, type of marketing for your business. If you aren’t taking advantage of this, I would highly recommend going to the nearest psychiatrist and getting your head examined… For everything else, I point you to my previous video on e-mail marekting.

Let’s Get To The Basics… Why E-Mail Marketing?

I’ve already covered a lot of these questions, so I won’t spend much time on answering them. I will however ask: How many times have you said “yes” to an offer the very first time you’ve seen it? In some cases, you may have but for most of the time, you need a second or third look at it at a later time before reaching a decision.

Collecting e-mails and utilizing them for your business is a great way to remind newcomers of the excellent value you have to offer them. Also, many of the youtube channels allows the users to learn about the benefits of email marketing on their channel. This is because the right e-mail strategy is vital for retaining current customers you already have. Without this, you lose potentially thousands of dollars annually that you could have pocketed.

Okay, so what do I need to know about e-mail marketing?

First of all, you need to know your niche. What’s a niche? Well, I cover that in a previous article as well.

Take some time with a pen and a pad and literally draw out the type of person that would all around describe your target customer. Now, before you say, “Waaa….But I wanna reach EVERYONE!” yes, there’s always going to be some diversity in your customer base; but you need to know the foundational characteristics of your target audience in order for you to know how to specifically market towards them – otherwise you’re just shooting into the abyss hoping for the best. That’ll do nothing more than waste a ton of time and money.

The next thing you need to do is build a relationship with them. I cover key elements of this through using the same method on Facebook. You can use this exact same strategy in your e-mails to your list.

You don’t want to mimmic the “used car salesman” approach that many online marketers use… pressuring people into your products may work to a very small degree and offer a bit of that instant gratification… but you’ll be hated for it and you will never retain customers for long lasting success and profits.

The key to sales is through relationships with your customers. Identify what they want, then know how to give it to them. That’s it!

Now, what if I don’t have a list of e-mails?

Obviously if you don’t have a list, you need to build one. I’ll cover this in greater length in an upcoming article, but the BEST way to get started on building a list is by creating a central hub that represents YOU… in other words, CREATE A BLOG. This acts as the epicenter of your entire brand or identity. This is one of many ways you can collect e-mails. Start with this and I’ll cover other ways you can build your e-mail list.
